Age & Physical Requirements

Via Ferrata: Minimum age 10 years old. Rafting: Age requirements vary by trip difficulty (6+ for family floats, 14+ for advanced rapids). Ziplines: Typically 50-100 lbs minimum, 250 lbs maximum. All activities weather-dependent. Book in advance during peak season.

Day One - Via Ferrata & Royal Gorge Park Adventures

Flood That Ended the Railroad

On July 21, 1912, a devastating flood washed out 12 bridges, five miles of track, and several towns along the Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad. The railroad was ultimately abandoned, and in 1918 the former railway grade was converted into today's Phantom Canyon Road.
