High Park Road and Colorado Highway 9 were originally trails that connected the ranches and farms of the mountain parklands west of Cripple Creek to Cañon City. The Currant Creek Trail followed the route of present day Colorado Highway 9. Tunnels Beneath Victor's Streets
More than two miles of Gold Coin Mine tunnels still run beneath Victor's streets today. The Woods brothers built these tunnels to transport ore from their mine to the Economic Mill some 4,000 feet away in Arequa Gulch.
