10:00 am PLAYER'S MEETING 10:30 am SHOT GUN START Come join us on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Alta Vista Golf Ranch in Victor, Colorado for our 4th Annual Double Down for the Byway disc golf tournament! This doubles tournament will have a shotgun start and take place on an 18-hole course at 9,400 feet altitude. Participants can look forward to a closest-to-the-hole prize on hole 16 and the opportunity to win amazing door prizes. Lunch featuring local BBQ will be available on site. Chairs for Rent at $1 a Night
During the height of the gold rush, Cripple Creek's Palace Hotel and Windsor Hotel were so crowded that they rented chairs for people to sleep in at $1 per night. Lots that originally sold for $25 were soon fetching $3,000 to $5,000 as the population exploded.
Dinosaur Bone Wars
Garden Park along Shelf Road was a major battleground in the famous "Bone Wars" between rival paleontologists O.C. Marsh and Edward Drinker Cope in the 1870s. Fossils discovered here include Diplodocus, Stegosaurus, and Allosaurus, with specimens now displayed at the Smithsonian and museums worldwide. The Cleveland-Delfs Quarry later yielded the only mounted Haplocanthosaurus on display in the United States.
