10:00 am PLAYER'S MEETING 10:30 am SHOT GUN START Come join us on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Alta Vista Golf Ranch in Victor, Colorado for the Double Down for the Byway disc golf tournament! This doubles tournament will have a shotgun start and take place on an 18-hole course at 9,400 feet altitude. Participants can look forward to a closest-to-the-hole prize on hole 16 and the opportunity to win amazing door prizes. Lunch will be available on site. Chairs for Rent at $1 a Night
During the height of the gold rush, Cripple Creek's Palace Hotel and Windsor Hotel were so crowded that they rented chairs for people to sleep in at $1 per night. Lots that originally sold for $25 were soon fetching $3,000 to $5,000 as the population exploded.
500 Volunteers Repair Phantom Canyon
After severe floods damaged Phantom Canyon Road in 1921, the Florence Chamber of Commerce recruited about 500 local volunteers to repair the highway. An iconic photo at Liberty Rock shows dozens of workers surrounding a sign reading "Florence Phantom Canyon Put 'Er Thru."
