FAQ
Where can I get a byway map?
Byway maps and information are available through multiple sources to help you plan and navigate your journey along the 131-mile route. The Gold Belt Byway website provides detailed maps showing all four roads, five communities, and over 42 attractions accessible from your computer or mobile device for pre-trip planning. Each of the nine professionally developed itineraries includes route maps with specific stops and timing recommendations to optimize your visit based on available time and interests.
Visitor centers in the five byway communities offer printed maps, brochures, and local expertise to help you plan your route and discover attractions along the way. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument maintains a state-of-the-art visitor center with exhibits, films, and information about the byway and surrounding area. Chamber of commerce offices in Cañon City and Florence provide additional resources for planning your visit. The Gold Belt Byway Association can be contacted at (719) 689-2461 or info@goldbeltbyway.com for maps and information, with office hours Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Physical maps prove especially valuable since cell phone service is unreliable in canyon areas, making GPS navigation challenging in remote sections of the route.
